Meet Our Leaders

Joanie leads the ENVISION and LEARN teams., which means that she's always thinking about the next sermon series. She finally gets to put her MA in Biblical Studies to work preparing many of the Sunday messages and teaching the 8:15 AM Bible Study. 

Tom leads our WORSHIP BAND each Sunday, making use of his lifelong love of music and wide vocal range. Tom's also our on-site contact with the YMCA since he's there every day leading fitness and balance classes.

Bob wears many hats, leading the FINANCE group and coordinating many SERVICE opportunities like the YMCA clean up and our participation in the YMCA Harvest Fest. He also brings the doughnuts and brews the coffee, an especially important task.

Colleen leads our PRAY area, contributing her unique passion and creativity to our Sunday worship and serving the Arise Healing Minisitry. She also represents Arise to the Sarasota Ministerial Association, forging connections that lead to partnering with other organizations to serve.

Cathy is the newest addition to Arise Leadership, bringing her passion for the Bible to the LEARN team. She recently completed the Colson Fellow Program and brings that valuable perspective to our group.

Christina handles Arise communication as she leads the SHEPHERD area. She also creates our amazing Communion tables each month and records the weekly service for FACEBOOK live. 

Pete lends a hand with FINANCE and is our ADMIN representative. He's also an early arriver on Sundays, which means he does more setup than most.

Tom and Mary lead our CARE team, so fellowship and fun start with them. Thanks to them, we've had picnics and bonfires, brunches and Christmas outings. If someone's had a meal made or been given a ride somewhere, that's probably Tom and Mary at work. 

Brian is an ordained Methodist Minister and former Missionary to Zambia. He leads our WORSHIP area and shares the Sunday morning teaching responsibilities. He presides over our monthly Communion and is especially gifted with on-the-spot transitional prayer, which ties our worship segments together smoothly.

Debbie is a vital part of our PRAY team, leading prayer and praying over individuals in our service. She is formally trained in Healing Prayer and leads the Arise Healing Ministry. She also serves as a hub of information for SERVE opportunities in our communities.
